Nobunaga's Ambition II (信長の野望・戦国群雄伝, Nobunaga no Yabō: Sengoku Gun'yūden, lit. Nobunaga's Ambition: Tales of the Sengoku Warlords) is the third title in the series, released December 1988 for PC-88SR. Nobunaga's Ambition is a series of turn-based grand strategy role-playing simulation video. It has also been confirmed that the western release will contain both English and Japanese dub. In the series have won Log-In magazine's 'BHS Prize', the 'Minister of Post & Telecommunications Prize', Nikkei BP's 12th, 13th,.
Nobunaga's Ambition: Taishi, the 15th installment in the long-running strategic simulator series that was first released late last year, however only in Japanese and Chinese. Now, KOEI TECMO is bringing Taishi to western markets with a localization. The already-available version of the game isn't region locked so technically the game has been available in western markets already, though unlocalized.
The localized version was announced alongside a newly cut version of the original version's cinematic trailer, with little changes beyond anglicized text at the end with appropriate PlayStation 4 and PC logos present, alongside the release date of thasew edition. In their press release, KOEI TECMO has not elaborated on what languages the game will be available in, whether it's only English or any other localizations have been made as well. Taishi was received with largely negative reviews upon initial launch last November, with many criticisms concerning a lack of polish, the visuals and the clear amount of content that has been cut to be added in paid downloadable content packs later on.
The localized version is likely unchanged from the base version of the game beyond language support, so no additional or altered content should be expected. The strategical element of the game is extremely deep with some complex mechanics that would put most western grand strategy games to shame with large tech trees, territory management, and a wide breadth of tactical options. Taishi brings a new feature to the series with a Resolve system, giving all military commander a set of personality stats that will affect their performance in certain situations, such as times when your orders clash with their ideology, for example.
Its not the translator's fault, and its not about compatibility issue. What you need to understand it that each time the team releases a new patch file, the CRC32 ID in your 'newly patched rom' changes to match the patching file. Its normal, because the ID is dynamic. The YSMENU's extinfo.dat v.6.75 database (found in TTMENU Folder) contain the older CRC32 ID (v.1.3 translation), not the newer v.1.4.

Is the game very small in term of length and content and replay value? Seems to me if you guys are almost done with it then could it possibly mean 'PKMN Conquest' is not really a huge game? Just wondering is all. The story mode is really small.
But, later we have the secret missions, and lot of different difficult missions. Just an exemple: yukimura mission i took 12 hours to finish. And the story mode 9 hours. There are some missions that in 2 hours u can finish. But, there ate 37 missions. So, at least 80 hours playing, u will have, to play the second story mode (with ur hero).
My sister and I both took courses in University for four years. My sister is better at it than me because, where I didn't have the courage to apply to study there, she did and spent a few years studying in Japan. My reading is terrible though since I don't have much practice and reading materials in Japanese don't come easily where I live.
Helping with the translation is great practice for my reading, seeing as the Kanji in the blocks of texts that I have to translate comes with it's hiragana and I can use my Japanese to English dictionary when I don't understand what a certain word means. Because of that, it can get tiring very easily because I have to sound out the sentence in my head, as if hearing them in a conversation, before I could understand and translate. It's mentally tiring. Besides, doing the translation is also helping with my English writing because it's not enough that I can understand the Japanese, I have to make a sentence that sounds natural and does not lose the meaning of the original Japanese and that sometimes could be a challenge since I'm more of a report guy and my daily English usage tends to be stiff/stilted. This game also has a lot of archaic words that trying to translate it to it's equivalent English is hard and the only reason I don't do it is because I'm afraid no one would get it and 'thou' 'dost' 'thusly' 'ere' etc. Sounds funny to a lot of people.
Courses at the University. As they would say in my language: 'there are other 500' Term used that means another story. Heheh You're probably right. But as the game's story takes place in ancient times, it makes sense to have archaic words.
From my point of view, it makes more sense to leave with archaic meanings (at least the easier to understand) in order not to lose the touch of 'ancient times'. This reminds me, when the game is released we will come with old terms? Remembering the event that occurred with Chrono Trigger (Snes). When it was released over here, the character Frog had the language more formal than the other characters, which did not occur in the original Japanese. I've made the people using archaic, polite language sound stiff and boring instead of substituting in 16th century English, which while understandable may make people scratch their heads for a while. Besides, this is a kid's game, supposedly, so there isn't so much of such things to begin with. Also, trying to convey demureness and elegance in English is a trifle bit harder to do for me than it is in Japanese.
One example, while translating block6, there's a female character (I assume) that speaks politely and demurely as she's going out for a walk and gets lost. Her standard greeting is 'Gokigenyou', which is usually preceded with 'ara' to express delighted surprise, which is just a colloquial and very formal version of saying Hello. I went with Oh my, a pleasure to see/meet you. Depending how it looks when patched, I might swap it out with 'Oh my, It's so nice to see you.' Or something. Funny thing is that Gokigenyou can also be use when parting. Usually translated as Farewell or Fare thee well.
Makes sense though when you break the word down. It literally means 'May you stay happy/blissful' so yeah, translating Japanese can get tiring to the brain. At least my brain is getting a lot of 'exercise' doing this so I can't complain.:). Calm down people. Don´t rush the things.
Are With the 1.4 you can play the game at the same speed like if it was in English. Most of the things you need are already there. So wait for the ones that using there own time are giving us a way to play the game months ahead of the english game release.
When they feel that the next patch is ready they will place it out. So keep playing your game and wait for the next patch.
You won´t lose much of the fun from playing the game. (and a new episode is already available for wifi downloading that you can play if you already got the 36 that where available before). And remember that when playing any of the 4 wifi events episodes, they are not translated. Since those things doesn´t come with the original game.
So if you are playing any of the 4 episodes, don´t think its strange that name is in japanese. But the trainers that are translated and you recruit them, they will have everything in English. (just remembered about this one since i finished Keji wifi episode and some people on other sites where saying that even with the translation from here they didn´t see the english name of the episode.). It's been mentioned already and it'll be fixed before the final patch is really. Rest assured that we know that it's wrong. Also, I don't know how Kyohack is going to go about it but I think v1.6 will be a 50% dialogue translated version. I may be wrong but that's what I think.
On the translation front, I've been busy with some stuff and I've barely translated 50% of block8. I really need an extra 2 hours to finish up block8. Too bad sleep and this thing called work takes precedence. Hey I just tired this but the patch program is expecting the rom to be 258MB when its only 150MB. When I patch the 258MB it turns it into a 150MB and gives me a error code when I try to play it. Your first action as I can tell is that you tried to patch over an already patched rom. That is a no can do.
You have to patch a clean (unpatched) rom with the patching file. While your second action is right, you patch a clean rom with the patching tool. Reason why it didn't run is because your firmware hasn't have the offset (game ID) in it. You see, each time a rom is patched/altered, the CRC32 Game ID changes (its dynamic). If you are using YSMENU/TTMENU, simply download Retrogamefan's updated DAT files. He has added the v.1.5 translation game id into his v.6.75 rom6006 DATs update. Wood R4 v.1.46 shouldn't encounter any problem.

Wood R4 v.1.46 shouldn't encounter any problem. I did a 100% clean rom:P and my R4 is v1.55:l no idea whats wrong meh XD And yes I did add.nds. MewMew: No, 1.6 will not be the final patch. I think the final patch will be 1.7 or maybe even 1.8. Temp: Thanks for the heads up on the new desmume version. I'll be sure to check that out.
The picture of Suicune wasn't drawn by me, it was made by Neko (he is the GFX admin on here). Hobiekat & Yvi: You aren't allowed to ask for ROMs or share links. Yvi, please remove the link from your post. Hobiekat, please follow the patching instructions in the first post.
Halp2000: Yes, the ROM is supposed to be 150 MB after the patch. It is automatically trimmed when you apply the patch. If there's a screenshot I could give some insight on what it does.
At least what it says it does anyways. I've yet to go around to playing the game because it'll distract me from my translation duties. That and I don't have time to play the game. EDIT: Finally have some time to do some more translation of block8. Not much time but better than none. I have 20-30 more lines to go before I'm done with it.
Really, writing variations of lines said when you let your pokemon go is really taxing. I hoping to have it done once I get some more time and after I read a good book to replenish my mental creativity. Penguin17 and shino619: This option (the fourth) is only available when the general (main character) are not in the Castle. It makes it possible to give 'automatic orders' to yours commanders inside the castle: There are 4 options: The first is to train (that is what it seems.) The second is to search for pokes that yours commanders like most and recruit new commanders that appear in the 'fields' The third is to raise the level of the buildings in the Castle (if you're not playing the main history).
And the fourth is to cancel the automation. Thank you very much!

I only looked up translations of the words there but i only made sense of the training part.:) well i don't know if it would be wrong to ask here but i don't know where else to ask but. I already used some passwords to get some pokemon but it seems you can't use them to make that pokemon swarm again. Can i still get them anywhere? I feel like it would be ridiculous if passwords where one time uses and that pokemon would not be seen anywhere again.: sorry for the long post. I was playing the translated version of this game ever since it was 1.2 and I am impressed on the work you guys did. But now that I have updated to 1.5, I seem to stumble across problems now.
Because I have already beaten the game and such, I wanted to start all over again using some Action Replay codes. Now that I have completed story mode, I have been also completing the special episodes. I am currently at 'The Strongest General' before I updated to 1.5. When I was attacking the Ice Nation, after when I defeated the army, the game suddenly crashes instead of the usual Victory music and whatnot.
I don't know if that is the cause of certain Action Replay code (But here's the secondary problem. The codes I used were working perfectly on the previous version of the game) or something wasn't fully configured before the release. I need some assistance, if possible. Thank you in advance. Please do not quote me. Wowfreak3000: Once the English translation is complete, then we will release the tool we used to edit text. If you don't want to wait, then send me the blocks of text in German, and I will edit the text for you.
Attdot: I suspect that the Action Replay codes caused your problem. Please try without the codes, and let me know if the game still crashes. When Action Replay codes are created, RAM values in the game are expected to hold certain static values. With all the changes in the translation, a lot of RAM data has changed. This can easily cause Action Replay codes to fail, and possibly crash the game. Dalrus: Yes, the save should be compatible with newer ROMs. Penguin17: Thanks for letting me know.
Nobunaga: I plan on releasing that tool when the English translation is completed. If you don't want to wait, then send me the Italian blocks and I will release a patch for it. News for v1.6: I corrected some minor typos and errors. You will see them fixed when v1.6 is released. Remember that I still want to wait until story text is roughly half finished, before releasing v1.6. Thanks to wowfreak3000, penguin17, and everyone else who pointed out these errors. Fixed Twineedle, X-Scissor, and Peck errors.
Fixed typos: Rajin's Voicen - Rajin's Voice Upgrade€ - Upgrade Entry Assult - Entry Assault Persuit - Pursuit Ultra Ball€ - Ultra Ball Acient Power - Ancient Power. Makuba: YSmenu needs to have the CRC checksum for the translated ROM, otherwise you will get error code 4 upon attempting to launch the game. If you don't know how to add the CRC checksum, then download the new YSmenu here: shino619: Yes, that was mentioned a few times.
It will be fixed in the next patch. Thank you for letting me know. Bryanyam1999: In the first post, I mentioned that we will be continuing our translation project.
Many people want to play the game in English before the official release. Even if we knew them, they have their own jobs. Not everyone is self employed. Block10 is almost done. I'm just tired of writing what they say when you send them off to missions and when they are about to initiate links.
I'd have done it sooner but the weekend was calling and I went on a date and watched the new Avengers movie. It was awesome. When I'm done with this I think I'll do the item descriptions next if I can find which block it is that holds them. I would like to have them translated for the 50% patch. Lot's of people were hoping that was done with when v1.5 came out so I'd want to have it done for v1.6. Reading the previous posts, heck my post 5 posts up, would have answered your question but to save you the trouble, the item descriptions are under dialogue.
The items that you see in the progress chart on the front page that has 100% only refers to their names and only their names. I'm planning to find the block that has the item descriptions and translating them next so that the next patch at least has the descriptions translated. EDIT: I've finally finished with block10 and I've decided to do blocks 40 and 41 next since they seem to have descriptions for skills and items. T3Petition: I use dslazy to pack and unpack the ROM. Once the ROM is unpacked, then you will be able to access the text files that I mentioned on the first page. Most of the text is compressed in MSG.dat, so you won't be able to edit that until the tool is released to the public.
That tool will be released when our English translation is complete. Thanks!:) This tool works for every ds rom??
I have a question: Are you and the team interested in start a translation project JAPENG for the game Ni No Kuni? Now, me with other people are trying but it's a real challenge:) Kind regards and good work:).
Given the popularity of Pokemon franchise, chances are there will be a group that will do the translation of B/W 2 since between the JPN version and the EU/US version, there's a gap of around 4 months. JPN version released on Jun 23rd, while EU/US nearing end of 2012. My guess is around Oct 2012. Not to mention there will also be 'hack' projects to modify it as well will start to spaw immediately after. Anyway, back on topic. Though I really appreciate all the efforts put in by the translating team for PPNY, with the release of the next update by you guys pushed back longer than expected by over 2-3 weeks. I had stopped playing the game as I can't understand the dialogs, thus I've decided to patiently wait till the official release due in 2 weeks time.
Thanks for the effort though, with your last patch release I had played half way. But I'm sure there are others anticipating for your next patch. So, keep up the great job. I haven't started playing this yet, I've been waiting for a sizable portion of the dialogue to be translated (this 1.6 update), but I've always really enjoyed games like Advanced Wars, Fire Emblem, and especially the Final Fantasy Tactics games.
Does this have that same sort of depth that games like FFT/Tactics Ogre have, or is it simpler than that? From hearing that it's supposed to be easy to pick up, I'd guess it doesn't quite have the same level of complexity, but would you say it's comparable? Nobunaga: Thanks for the files. I'll include them in the next patch. The menu text are actually graphic files.
You need to use a program called tinke to open the ROM. Then you can change the contents of the.G2DR files, and swap out.NCGR and.NCLR files. Those files can be edited in crystaltile2. ShizZLe: Make sure your flashcart's firmware is up to date. Then copy all of the files from the MicroSD card to your computer, then format the MicroSD card, then copy your files back onto it. That will fix any file fragmentation issues that you may be experiencing. Hmmm. It's getting pretty tight over here on this forum.
Everyone trolling around waiting on the 1.6 English Patch to arrive. I'm one of them. Aren't you the only (almost) one?
I'm waiting too, but it seems as though you're the only one who keeps on posting about the new patch:P Either way, I really appreciate the effort and though I said I'm waiting for the patch, I'll most likely only play for a teeny bit (only if the first few or more dialogues are translated) while waiting for the official version so that 1. I don't have to restart my whole game on the official version (Lol) 2. I'd rather play through the whole game translated than to play this part that, that part this (no offence).
Oh, and my first post.
